Question by holacarinados: Do health insurance companies think the average person is a moron?
I am having a tooth implant. My insurance co. won’t pay a nickel for it. They say it is not a necessary procedure since there are alternatives even though I had to sign a statement with my dentist that included the clause ‘I understand this is a necessary procedure in my case because alternatives could jeopardize the health of my entire tooth structure.’ Then I noticed my dental insurance pays for preventative oral cancer screening. I asked their rep whether that was a necessary procedure since obviously it’s not, since it’s preventative. The rep gave me some b.s. answer. Then I said, “why don’t you just admit you won’t pay for the implant because it’s expensive?” The rep said, we don’t pay for dental implants because they are not covered in our policy.” Duh. That’s Illogic 101. Do insurance companies really think we are that stupid?

They have us by the ba**s. Not just medical but all types. The average Joe can’t fight them, they just drag it out so long it becomes more economically feesable to say screw it, eat your crap sandwich and go on . That don’t make it right, that’s just the way it is. Why do you think they have billions in reserve?

Question by Angela B: What’s the average cost range for dental veneers?
I would like to set up a surprise appointment for my fiance to get a couple of veneers put on his front teeth, since they’re stained and damaged and he’s really self conscience of them. But I have no thought how a lot money that would need. What makes it even more tough is the truth that we have completely no dental insurance. On average, how significantly do dental veneers price? And does it vary by where you live? I live in the Wisconsin/ Minnesota region.

Do you want veneers or have you considered Lumineers? Veneers are going to run you around $ 500 and up per tooth. They also involve quite a bit of tooth reduction in order for them to fit properly. Lumineers involve minor cosmetic preparation and the suggested retail cost is $ 1000 per tooth, but you’ll have to check with individual offices..
EDIT: $ 1075 per Veneer? Jesus…where do you live that it would cost that much? Look, if you are going to be paying over a grand per veneer, just go with the Lumineers. The price is most likely going to be comperable and because there isn’t any cutting or grinding of the teeth, the proceedure is also essentially painless and reversable, if you chose to do that in the future.

There generally isn’t that much of a price distinction. Our office charges $ 795 for a full gold crown and for a Porcelain fused to metal crown and then we charge $ 850 for an all porcelain crown.

Question by Sam’s Golden Lovin Mom: what is the average cost of dental lumineers?
I am considering cosmetic lumineers. My teeth are in great shape but stained so I am investigating having lumineers applied. Does any 1 know the “average” cost? I know that it depends on regions but I’m attempting to get a baseline. Thanks.

Sorry, I don’t know the average cost, but my dentist in NJ charges 1200 a pop, plus sales tax. Hope that helps
