Question by Cecilia: How long does it take oral cancer to develop? Plz answer soon!?
Sry Im sort of a hypochondriac…I’ve been having wierd medical stuff going on latly, and I was wondering….
So yea I had an oral cancer screening done on March 17, 2010.
For some reason I’m worried that now I may have it. The screening came up negative for oral cancer.
is it possible for it to develop that fast, just between last month and now?
I smoked maybe 3 times since then, I drink a little every now and then. I used to smoke years ago and then quit, both times i started smoking in the past was for a few months and then i quit, the past 3 times were a social thing.
I’ve been having what looks like cold sores, got what feels like maybe a dry patch on my cheek, and I have a sore throat.
Could this just be cold sores, getting sick, or should I worry and get screened again for oral cancer?

wow lots of hypocondriacs on tonight… Okay if you had a test back in march the chances of you getting cancer between then and now are very very low… Its far more likely that your resistance is low and you have sores in your mouth. they could also be cold sores which pop up commonly to people who are highly stressed. I say wrince out your mouth with 1/2 water/peroxide, mouthwash or salt water every 2 days. if the sores dont start to shrink up after mabe 2 or 3 weeks then ask a doctor.
